February Empties and Favourites

Good morning, dear readers! :)

As yesterday was the last day of February, I wanted to do another empties post, but I accidently deleted the photos. :(  Thankfully I also took a video which I had saved, so there is a link to that here. :D

I also put up another video on my February favourites, which is here.

One of my resolutions for this year is to post more videos, to sort of supplement my blog.  I haven't done many yet, mainly because of my gaining a lot of weight last year, and feeling really self conscious about it.  But crap happens, and I know I will lose the weight in time, and I should do what I enjoy regardless of what I look like!  I've had a really tough year (so far for 2013 as well as most of 2012) and that is one of the main reasons why I gained weight (emotional eater!!  Ahhh!), so hopefully I can get that under control and I really REALLY hope that this year gets better.

Thank you for all of your kind words and encouragement over the last year; it is so wonderful that there is such a warm and wonderful community out there that I am so lucky to be a part of.

Take care and have a wonderful day!

Happy Brain Franken

Good morning, dear readers!

Today I have a manicure made with a franken my sister made for me.  She made it to symbolize my having a healthy, happy brain (as mine has been not so happy and healthy lately).

It is a bit more purple in real life, but we all know how hard it is to catch purple with a camera.

This colour is very 'me'!  And I think she mixed like 14 different polishes to get this!

Many thanks to my awesome sister for creating this beauty for me to wear :D.

Have a wonderful day!!

Lush Haul Video

Good afternoon, dear readers!

I wanted to let you know that I put my Lush haul up on my YouTube channel!

I am trying to do more videos this year but oh my glob they take hours to upload (ugh!!)

You can find the video here :D

Have a great day, my friends!

Twinsie Tuesday - Messy Ruffian Mani

Good morning, dear readers!

First off I want to apologize for the messiness of this manicure; I've been feeling like serious crap and haven't been caring too much about my nails lately. :'(  So this is messy and chipping (my nails have been painted for days) and my skin is dry, but I wanted to post at least something for this TT.

Lush Haul No. 4

Good evening, dear readers!

I have been feeling extremely down lately, and one of the things I love to do when I feel like utter crap is to shop!

Unfortunately I am not overflowing with cash (and never have been), so I end up making lists of what I really want to buy before I even have the money for it.  While it seems like I can do Lush haul after Lush haul lately, this is probably the last one for a while, as all my extra money went into it.  I don't drink, go out to eat, go to clubs or anything like that.  I don't have a car (a blessing and a curse) and so do not have to pay for that privilege.  Instead, my money goes to a usually monthly (sometimes bi-monthly if I borrow money for it!) mini binge, where I purchase nothing but what I am currently obsessing over.  I don't buy shoes or clothes or bags, and most of the make-up I own sits in a bin on my dresser mostly un-touched.  I don't have magazine subscriptions or a smart phone, no pets or children, no text plans and I don't go out to the movies.  So, my latest obsession has been Lush, and that is where pretty much all of my income has gone (excluding bills like rent, phone, OSAP, etc..)

So here is my glorious 4th Lush haul, which will be the last one for a while as I have other obligations with which I will spend my money on.

Wooee!!!  This is so exciting for me!!! :D

I got two facial cleansers to try out:

9 to 5:

and Ultrabland:

I also got two facial moisturizers, as I have very finicky skin (dry combination super sensitive):

Imperialis:

and Celestial:

I really wanted to try some more of their hand and body lotions, as I have tried Charity Pot so far and really like it.  So I got another small Charity Pot, and a larger Sympathy for the Skin:

I wanted to get another Fresh Face Mask, but they were out of Oatifix (which I really wanted to try) and everything else except for Cosmetic Warrior and Cupcake.  As I didn't want garlic-face, I decided on Cupcake, even though it is generally recommended towards more oily skin:

I seriously LOVE vanilla, and couldn't say no to the Vanilla Puff Powder:

Lastly (but not really, because I got samples!) is the Honey Trap lip balm, which I have read some amazing reviews for:

The lovely ladies at Lush gave me some samples that I really wanted to try:

Volcano Foot Mask (now this is a sample and a half!):

Lovely Jubblies:

and Blousey shampoo:

Needless to say I am extremely excited to be trying out these wonderful products, and as the weeks pass I will update you on my thoughts of them.

Due to several wonderful people I was able to get this amazing haul today, and for that I am so very thankful!!!

Time to try out these babies!! :D

(Have you tried any of these Lush products and if so, what are your thoughts on them?)

February Break

Good morning, dear readers,

I wanted to let you know that I will be taking a short break from my blog, due to mental illness.  I have been feeling really bad for the last month or so and I need to find ways to deal with my problems.

I don't want to skip posting altogether, but if I do post it will probably be short reviews and some swatches that I have saved from before (when I had longer nails).

Hopefully I will get back into the swing of things soon!

Twinsie Tuesday - Polka Dots

Good morning, dear readers!

Today is Twinsie Tuesday, and for this manicure I decided to go the dot route (we could choose polka dots or lines):

These are not quite polka dots, but close enough for me. :D

Unfortunately I snapped two of my nails and had to make them all really short to match.  :(

Frindy - Granite

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a swatch of another frindy (indie polish I frankened) that I made, called Granite:

The 'frankened' part was me adding some grey polish to the indie, and that's it.  The rest were raw materials that I combined to get the desired effect.

What are your thoughts on Granite?  Is it a type of polish you could see yourself wearing?

Have an amazing day! :D

Lush Haul 3

Good afternoon, dear readers!

I know, I know... I have a problem.

A Lush problem.

And I am okay with that!! :D  This is my most recent Lush haul, and as all three hauls that I have currently done for Lush were purchased at three different times, I tried to space them out.  Except I wanted to post this haul now, so here I go....

Here is the lot:

Fresh Farmacy face soap:

Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter:

Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion:

A huge-ass hunk of Honey I Washed the Kids soap:

I also got another Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds, and some Breath of Fresh Air.  (I forgot to take photos of those two)

I have been looking forward to Lemony Flutter since I first heard of it.  Being a nail polish blogger I need to take special care of my cuticles and hands, and I have read some amazing reviews online for this product.

I will do reviews later, I just wanted to think up a quick post for this weekend.

What are your favourite Lush products?  If you haven't tried Lush before, have I tempted you yet? :D XD

Have an amazing weekend!

Lush Haul 2

Good afternoon, dear readers!

I have another Lush haul to show you, that I got a little while ago but waited to post.  I seriously am loving Lush products, and I think I am making up for lost time (the 10 years I didn't spend as a Lush customer since I first saw their store).  Here I will show you what I got and also mention the more notable ingredients in each product (excluding what I consider to be 'boring' ingredients, like colouring and the like):

Here is the whole lot:

Butterball Bath Bomb (Ballistic):

Butterball is made with cocoa butter, synthetic musk, and ylang ylang oil.

Floating Island Bath Melt:

Floating Island is made with cocoa butter, almond, sandalwood and lemon oils, as well as labdanum resinoid.

Dragon's Egg Bath Bomb (Ballistic):

Dragon's Egg contains fizzy candy, lemon and bergamot oils, jasmine absolute, gardenia extract, golden glitter, gold lustre, and rice paper.

Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bubble Bar (I only bought one this time, but I made a comparison shot with my older one to show the difference in blueness):

Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds is made with patchouli oil, frankincense resinoid, and cinnamon leaf oil.

Sea Vegetable soap:

Sea Vegetable soap is made with rapeseed and coconut oils, sea salt, arame seaweed, lime and lavender oils, and seaweed absolute.

Honey I Washed the Kids soap:

Honey I Washed the Kids is made with honey water, rapeseed and coconut oils, beeswax, sweet wild orange and bergamot oils, aloe vera extract and gardenia extract.

Mr. Punch Soap:

Unfortunately I could not find the ingredients list for Mr. Punch soap.  This soap is from the Christmas collection, and is no longer available for purchase on their Canadian website (or the stores I went to).  Apparently it contains juniper berry oil, blackcurrant absolute, lime oil and gin.

Godiva Solid Shampoo (and tin!):

Godiva is made with cocoa butter, hibiscus extract, shea butter, camella oil, jojoba oil, macadamia nut oil, extra virgin coconut oil, jasmine absolute, ylang ylang oil, cypress oil, palmarossa oil, jasmine flowers, cupuacu butter, and gardenia extract.  (Talk about fancy ingredients!!)

Sandstone Soap:

Sandstone contains sand, rapeseed oil, coconut oil, litsea cubeba oil, coriander oil, and gardenia extract.

I am really happy with my purchases!!  I have tried these already and will review them in later posts (this post is long enough already XD).

Are any of these products Lush favourites of yours?

If I could only choose 2 to use from now on it would be Blue Skies and Honey I Washed the Kids.

Have an amazing Friday!!

Valentine's Day Manicures

Good evening, dear readers!! :D

Tonight I am sharing some Valentine's Day themed manicures because I will be out in town tomorrow, doing some errands (one of the most 'romantic' things I have to do is see my psychiatrist...ugh!) and will be unable to post.

Manicure 1!:

For this manicure I used a base of China Glaze Winter Berry, then added some Girly Bits Rogue overtop.  After that I painted in some designs with white and black acrylic paint.

Manicure 2:

This is a frindy (frankened indie) that I made (don't worry, I frankened one of my own indie creations for this ;)) called: He Loves Me Not.  It is for my single status (a bit grim sounding but more on the light side) on this Valentine's Day:

Anyway, I wish you all a wonderful day whether you will be spending it with a loved one or not!  Many hugs your way! :D!

-Ashesela ;)

Edit: Oooo Oooh!!  I forgot to show you my new hair colour:

My sister did my super cute makeup!!! :D
Wheeee purple!!!!
