Lush Love Locket Review

Good morning, dear readers! :D

To continue with the Lush Valentine's Day reviews, I have another review for you today, this time of the new Love Locket bath bomb.

This was kindly sent to me for review :'D.

AHHhhhh... look at how cute that is!! :'D  The look reminds me of Kingdom Hearts (fantastic game!).

Here is the Lush description:

"Set hearts aflutter!

What’s inside this locket? You’ll need to break this heart-shaped bomb in half to find out! Use each half and the center for three separate baths (each piece is big enough to stand on its own), or sink in with the whole thing all at once. The outside layer is speckled with paper hearts that will float out to the surface of the pink water, and the hidden center releases a smattering of shiny red agar seaweed hearts to create a spectacular bath time display. The sensual blend of vanilla, jasmine and neroli essential oils top off the luxurious and indulgent experience." - lush.ca

This is one MASSIVE bath bomb!  As they suggest, you can easily get three baths out of this one.

Here is what it looks like broken up:

And here is the heart-of-the-heart, complete with adorable agar hearts for decoration:

Here is the list of ingredients:
Sodium Bicarbonate , Citric Acid , Fragrance , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum) , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides) , *Eugenol , Geraniol , Methyl Ionone ,*Linalool , *Limonene , D&C Red No. 33 , D&C Red No. 27 , Pink Heart Confetti , Red Edible Hearts (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), Glycerine, Gum Arabic, Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, FD&C Red 40)

Here is what I used for my bath (about 1/3rd of the bath bomb).  I only used part of the outer pink shell, so you won't see the agar hearts in this review:

And here we goooo...
Now this is a *very* fast bath bomb, so it fizzes away really quickly.
EEEE!!!  Look at all of those cute paper hearts! :'D

It's like a pink wave washing over my bathwater:
 Piiiiink!!
And here it is, before completely mixing in (so it is still more pink where I placed it in the bath.):

Okay, this is wonderful!!! :D

Because the hearts are made out of paper (these hearts, anyway ;)), they last for the entire bath!

I think that this is what the Queen of Hearts would bathe in, if she weren't evil.  Because, being evil, she would probably bathe in a bath with real hearts and blood for water.  But!  Enough of that!

This is a good Queen of Hearts bath, and it will make you feel like one too! :)

I have fallen hard for this bath bomb, which makes me both a bit giddy and a bit sad, because this is a limited edition product.

It has a really nice scent, which is not overpowering, and very relaxing. :D I cannot decipher the exact notes, even though they list them on their web page.  It is like a lovely floral bouquet, but I can't pick out the individual scents.  I think that the added vanilla tones down the floral aspect, so it isn't just flower notes, but an interesting combination.  I can't pick out the vanilla by itself, because everything blends together in a really lovely way.

Would I recommend this?  Yes!!  Yes yes omg yes.  It is good for three baths, makes you feel like a queen, and isn't overpowering at all so you don't have to worry about that.  You also don't have to worry about the fragrance clashing with perfume or cologne, because I only detect a little bit of the fragrance left on my skin after my bath.

I used this with the Prince Charming shower gel, and my skin feels really lovely and soft! :D

I would love to get about 20 of these, but I may have to settle for 1 or 2 more ;).

I really hope that this makes a return next year!!! :D

If you try only two products from Lush's Valentine's Day range, I really recommend this and the Neon Love soap.  NEED...MORE...

Have a super amazing day! :D

Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel Review

Good morning, lovelies!! :D

I've got another Valentine's Day edition Lush review for you. :)

Today I will be reviewing their Prince Charming shower gel, which is a limited edition Valentine's Day release (so be sure to check it out before it is gone!!).

This was kindly sent to me for review :D.

Here is the Lush description:

"Fresh pomegranate and marshmallow wash

Lather up in our brand new, limited edition shower gel! Fresh pomegranate juice and grapefruit oil cleanse the skin while their bright, energetic scents help wake you up on early mornings. Add to that a blend of Fair Trade vanilla pod infusion, skin-softening marshmallow root and almond oil, and you’re in for royally soft, moisturized skin all over. The fragrance was made especially for this product and we think it’s an instant classic. Prince Charming is bound to sweep you off your feet!" - lush.ca

Here is the list of ingredients:
Water , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Sodium Cocoamphoacetate , Propylene Glycol , Lactic Acid ,Lauryl Betaine , Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi) ,Sandalwood Oil (Santalum austro-caledonicum vieill and Fusanus spicatus) , Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens) , Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) , Titanium Dioxide , *Citronellol , *Farnesol , *Geraniol , *Linalool ,Fragrance , D&C Red No. 33 , D&C Red No. 27 , D&C Red No.4 , Methylparaben , Propylparaben

I really love the name of this shower gel!!

Sadly my shower puff is gone (harrumph!), so I had to grab a regular face cloth to use with this.  Because of that, I cannot perfectly compare the lathering quality of this vs. other Lush shower gels I have tried (I usually use the shower loofah with the other ones).  It definitely does lather up, but I *think* Rose Jam and Snow Fairy make a few more bubbles. :}

There is a lot of grapefruit in the fragrance, and even though I am reaaally not a grapefruit fan at all, it was still surprisingly pleasant. :}  You do get hints of the pomegranate in there as well, but to be honest the pomegranate reminds me of passion fruit (which I really like!).  However, the dominant note is definitely grapefruit, so if you are not a fan of grapefruits I would suggest give this a try before buying it.  I do think the other notes help to lessen the harshness of the grapefruit (hahaha I definitely don't like grapefruit, but I have to give it to Lush, they really make absolutely lovely shower gels!), so you may still like it!

*Edit: This does not smell like the modern day marshmallow confection, I believe the label on the bottle is talking about althaea officinalis, also know as the marshmallow plant.  Sorry if there was any confusion!!*

It is a bit opaque and it reminds me of a fruit smoothie, both in looks, texture, and in fragrance.

It cleans quite nicely and leaves skin feeling smooth and fresh :}.

I took a bath with this and a Love Locket bath bomb, and my skin didn't have much of a scent afterwards.  Just a hint, so I wouldn't worry about this clashing with any fragrances you may choose to wear after bathing. :)

While a lot of people use Lush shower gels as shampoos as well, I wouldn't recommend using this one on your hair (unless, perhaps, your hair is very oily).  I have very dry and damaged hair, and I used Prince Charming instead of my usual Blousey, and it was not good.  XD  My hair felt very tangled and dry (even under water!), so I would use this for its original purpose only.  But I had to test it out *tee-hee!*.

Overall I think that a lot of people are going to be very happy with this.  It really is lovely, and while it isn't my favourite out of Lush's shower gels (Rose Jam, that title belongs to youuu!!!), I am very glad to have it, and to have had the opportunity to try it! :D

Have an amazing day!

Lush Close to You Massage Bar Review

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a review of Lush's limited-edition Valentine's Day Close to You massage bar!

This was really kindly sent to me for review. :}

Here is the Lush description:

"Scrumptious vanilla bar

Made with luxurious butters and a delicious vanilla scent, this sweet massage bar is guaranteed to bring someone special close to you! This is one of our smooshable bars, which can be pressed between your palms, melted and used for one glorious, all-over body massage. It’s inspired by a British cookie called the Jammy Dodger, which is made of shortbread with raspberry jam in the middle. If you peek in the heart-shape on the top of the massage bar you’ll see the scrumptious white fondant center."
This smells exactly like Snow Fairy shower gel!! :D  Which means that this awesome massage bar has that same delicious marshmallow Easter egg fragrance!  (Seriously, it smells *exactly* like marshmallow Easter eggs to my sister and I!)

Here is the list of ingredients:
Organic Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) ,Murumuru Butter (Astrocaryum murumuru) , Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) , Olive Oil (Olea europaea) , Organic Agave Syrup (Agave tequilana) , Fragrance , Cupuacu Butter (Theobroma Grandiflorum) , Cornflour (Zea mays) , Glycerine , Methyl Ionone , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , Titanium Dioxide , D&C Red No. 27 , D&C Red No. 33 , FD&C Red No. 4

This is also very moisturizing!! :D  With ingredients like shea, murumuru, and cupuacu butters and almond and olive oils, it is a serious treat for the skin! :)

It melts instantly on contact with your skin, which makes it a perfect massage bar indeed!  This also means that it should be stored in a cool environment, so be sure to have a solid container to keep it in.

I think I will use this as a mix between a moisturizer and perfume.  XD  It smells SO yummy, and I don't want to use this up too quickly.  :D

As tempted as I am to smoosh it up and rub it all over, I will resist that urge and keep it in my tin, to swipe it across my arms when I want a sugary-sweet boost.  If I can manage to keep some of this for Easter, I will use it with my Snow Fairy shower gel and wander around smelling like a giant Easter egg! :D  And then I will proceed to eat Easter eggs.  Mmmmm delicious!

If you are a Snow Fairy fan, then I would really REALLY recommend getting this.  If you don't, you may kick yourself in the butt later, and that is never any fun!

Another winner Lush, and I hope that you bring this around again so your fans can continue enjoying it!

Have you tried any of Lush's Valentine's Day treats yet?

Have an amazing day! :D

Lush Neon Love Soap Review

Good morning, dear readers!! :D

I hope that you are doing well!

Today I have a review of Lush's Neon Love soap.  This is a new release, limited edition soap made especially for Valentine's Day.

Neon Love Savon
(Not my image, image taken from here.)

(Also not my image, this image is from the Lush Southampton FB page.)

This scrumptious soap was so kindly sent to me for review. :D

I wanted to add the above photos to this post to give you an idea of what the whole block of soap looks like.

Here is the Lush description:

"Love your skin!

We’re excited to introduce a brand new soap made especially for Valentine’s Day. With fresh passion fruit juice to cleanse and soya yogurt to nourish, Neon Love is one we want to use all over our bodies in the bath and shower. A new perfume was blended for this bar, and includes citrusy bergamot, rosewood and spicy cinnamon leaf oil. Hiding inside the huge heart-shaped soap are little white hearts to ensure every slice looks just as beautiful as it smells." - lush.ca
This smells AMAZING!!! O_O

The passion fruit juice is very noticeable in here, as is the citrus notes and cinnamon.  This blend is so delicious and unique, and yet it brings me great memories from my youth.

Neon Love reminds me of a wonderful store I used to go to with my sister, which had all sorts of whimsical and enchanting jewellery, incense, candles and other offerings.  Great memories, and great soap!! :D

Here is the list of ingredients:
Water , Propylene Glycol , Rapeseed Oil , Coconut Oil (Brassica napus; Cocos nucifera) , Fresh Passion Fruit (Passiflora edulis) , Cornflour (Zea mays) , Sodium Stearate , Fresh Figs (Ficus carica) , Fragrance ,Cinnamon Leaf Oil (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) ,Rosewood Oil (Aniba rosaeodora) , Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia) , Titanium Dioxide ,Glycerine , Sodium Chloride , EDTA , Tetrasodium Editronate , Sodium Hydroxide , *Citral , *Coumarin ,*Eugenol , Geraniol , *Linalool , *Limonene , FD&C Yellow No. 8 , D&C Green No. 8 , D&C Red No. 27

I just...I keep smelling my hands (I just washed my hands with it right before giving this review so I could accurately describe the fragrance left on my skin).  The fragrance is just so relaxing and exotic!
The mix of fruit, spice, and wood in this blend is almost intoxicating. :} *relaxed, happy face.*

You can still smell it on your skin after washing with it (yay!!).  I find that while the cinnamon notes are more apparent in the soap itself, once washed with it, my skin brings out more of the passion fruit and citrus.  As everyone has a different physiology, I believe that the results could greatly vary depending on the person.

As for the soap itself (and not just the fragrance XD), I find that it lathers less than some of Lush's other soaps (don't get me wrong, it still lathers really well!), but I believe that one of the reasons is because it is so...'juicy' (for lack of a better word). The texture is slightly sticky, similar to a freshly-cut slice of Demon in the Dark. :D
I think it is because of the humectants in the soap drawing moisture in from the air, which means it is great for your skin! :D

When you use it it feels smooth and rich, and my skin feels better after washing with it.  I have really dry hands right now (thanks winter!), and after washing with Neon Love they feel and look noticeably more moisturized, even without adding a lotion after! :D!!

The list of ingredients is very impressive, with fresh passion fruit, coconut oil, fresh figs (I believe those are the fig seeds you see in the photo above!), cinnamon leaf oil, bergamot oil, and rosewood oil.  Very exotic and fancy!!

Lush, you have a serious winner here.  I sincerely hope that this will keep returning to the store shelves, and one day become part of your core soap line.  Please.  Please please please!! O_O *stares intently!*

All in all I give this a 10/10!!  I HAVE to get more of this before it is gone!!  An added bonus is that for only $6.95 Can per 100g, this is one of Lush's least expensive soaps!  That really surprised me because of the awesome ingredients used. :D

Have you tried Neon Love yet? :D  If not, I highly recommend grabbing a slice before it is gone. :} REALLY REALLY!!  I think this is my new favourite Lush soap! :D

I hope that you have a wonderful day!

M:TG Theros Favourites

Good morning, dear readers! :D

It is time for another Magic: The Gathering post.

As the Born of the God's pre-release is almost upon us, I thought I would make a post on some of my favourite Theros cards.

I play a white/blue deck, so my favourites today are going to be mainly those colours. :D

All of the images in this post are from Magic The Gathering Gatherer, and are property of Wizards of the Coast.

Elspeth, Sun’s Champion
Oh Elspeth, how I adore you! :D This wonderful plainswalker is a powerful ally, and all of her abilities are extremely helpful!  When I get her onto the field, it is almost a guaranteed win for me.

To up her loyalty points, you get to put three 1/1 Soldier creature tokens on the field per turn.  These quickly add up, and play beautifully into her second ability, where she allows you to destroy every creature on the field with a power of 4 or greater (which means you keep all of your 1/1's!).  Her third ability gives your creatures flying and +2/+2, making your Soldier tokens a swarm of formidable creatures.

While she is an expensive card, I cannot recommend her enough for a mono-white or combo white deck.

Heliod, God of the Sun
Heliod!  As long as your devotion is 5 or more, Heliod comes out as a 5/6 creature for only 3+1W mana.  That is darn good for a white creature!  You only need 4 more white devotion for him to be a creature, as he already has 1W in his mana cost.
He boosts his worth with Indestructible, and a 2+2W ability that allows you to put a 2/1 Cleric enchantment token onto the field.  So even if he is not a creature at the time, you can still pay for his ability cost and bring out that token.

Spear of Heliod
Spear of Heliod is a great 1+2W artifact, giving all of your creatures +1/+1 and adding 2 to your white devotion (which helps keep Heliod a creature).  It also has another great ability where you can pay 1+2W and destroy a target creature that dealt damage to you this turn.  Woohoo!

Gift of Immortality
Gift of Immortality is brilliant.  It can also be very annoying for an opponent. This enchantment allows you to bring the creature you enchanted back from the graveyard.  Not only that, but it brings itself back as well, and attaches to the same creature as before.  So unless it is removed with another spell, it will just keep regenerating that creature over and over.  :D Muahahaha!!

Hundred-Handed One
I love the idea of this card!! :D  The hekatonkheires were fearsome creatures in Greek mythology that had 50 heads and 100 hands.  I like this version better, where the creature has a bunch of arms (as well as hands) but only one head. XD
Wizards of the Coast really added to the flavour of the card by having this creature be able to turn monstrous, becoming a 6/8 monster that can block an additional 99 creatures!  That is so much awesome.

Phalanx Leader
Phalanx Leader is especially handy!  While at first 2W seems to be a bit pricey for a 1/1, his ability more than makes up for that.  Whenever you cast a spell targeting it, you give each of your creatures +1/+1.  Hard to say no to that!

Thassa, God of the Sea
If your devotion to blue is 5 or higher, Thassa is a 5/5 creature with Indestructible for only 2+1U mana!
Just like Heliod, you only need 4 more blue devotion for her to be a creature, as she already has 1U mana in her cost.
You get to scry 1 at the beginning of your upkeep steps (woohoo!), and if you pay 1+1U, a target creature you control can't be blocked this turn :D (which also works really well with Medomai the Ageless, which I will explain a little ways below.)

Bident of Thassa
Thassa's bident allows you to draw a card each time a creature you control deals combat damage to a player.  There is also the 1+1U ability which makes creatures your opponents control attack this turn if able.

Aqueous Form
Aqueous Form is a 1U aura enchantment, making your creature unblockable.  This is so very handy, especially in one of my favourite card combinations, which brings me to...

Medomai the Ageless
Medomai the Ageless!
He is a fantastic creature.  If he deals combat damage to a player, you get an extra turn after this one.  O_O  While he can't attack on the extra turns (or else you would keep getting turns over and over until the game ended), you can use those turns to attack with other creatures, get some more cards, and even produce more tokens using Elspeth.
Combining Medomai with Aqueous Form has proven to be a super successful combo for me, and I greatly recommend it. :D
He also works very well with Thassa, as her 1+1U ability allows you to target one of your creatures and make it unblockable for a turn.  Yay! :3

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is a seriously beautiful land.  When you tap it you can add 1 colourless mana to your mana pool.  OR!  If you choose to pay two mana when you tap it, you can pick a colour and you will get the equivalent of your total devotion to that colour added to your mana pool!!! :D This is an awesome, awesome card.  If you have a devotion of 7, that is a big wallop of extra mana per turn!
And an added bonus (not that it needed more, but I'll take it!) is that it enters the field un-tapped.

To wrap things up, those are some of my absolute favourites from the Theros set, and I am very excited to get my hands on some Born of the Gods cards. :D

Born of the Gods is to be released on Feb. 7th, but you can get in on some BOTG action on the first and second of Feb., with the pre-release events.

Have a super awesome day! :D

Products I'm Really Enjoying Right Now

Good afternoon, dear readers! Today's post is about some of products that I've been enjoying lately!  Swatches (where applicable) ...
